CALS in Australia and New Zealand
CALS centres of Excellence are now found in Sydney (RPA and RNS), Melbourne (RMH), Adelaide (RAH and Flinders), Perth (SCG) , Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH) and Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital (SCUPH), John Hunter Hospital (Newcastle) and Hamilton NZ (Waikato).
In 2019 further centres will open in Fiona Stanley Hospital (Perth) ,Darwin , Gold Coast University Hospital, John Flynn Hospital (Gold Coast), Gold Coast University Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital (Sydney), Westmead Hospital (Sydney), Canberra , Monash Hospital (Melbourne) and Wellington Hospital (New Zealand).
As in the Europe and the US we are collaborating with clinicians , nurses and professions allied to medicine to develop guidelines for resuscitation post cardiac surgery that address the challenges and resources found in centres across Australia and New Zealand.
CPD / CME points are now available for Intensivists doing CALS courses in Australia. Nursing staff are now officially credited with 16 hours of education (through eLearning and 1 day course).
